The Learning Resources and Educational Media Centre has organised the Green Library Explorer event (Environmental Knowledge Adventure) as part of the Provincial National Science Week 2023 from 16-18 August 2023, on the third floor of the centre with the following activities: • The environmental awareness-raising video activity and Q&A • The thinking-skill-enhancing board game activity • The science movie streaming and book display activity Approximately 12,860 Students from various schools in Chiang Rai were present. On July 12, 2023, from 08.30 to 15.00 hrs., the Learning Resources and Educational Media Centre together with the Centre for Academic Services of Mae Fah Luang University organised the project for educational staff and instructional media development, as well as skills development for students at the Kindergarten of Mae Khaw Tom Subdistrict Administrative Organisation Chiang Rai, with a total of 133 teachers and students participating in the activity. The purposes are to enhance the knowledge and skills of the educational staff so that they can work effectively and to enhance the early childhood children’s learning and development skills so that they can grow up properly. The following activities have been planned for the project: 1st Activity: Training on the school library system’s management and service for teachers responsible for the library. 2nd Activity: Promoting learning through storytelling by Mrs. Warinthorn Prapatthong, the all-time favourite storyteller for children. In addition, there were board game activities to enhance creativity and memory skills. The children were captivated, impressed, and energised by the activities. The Learning Resources and Educational Media Centre hosted a workshop on the project of Upskill & Reskill for Library Staff under the topic of “Book Care: Sick Books We Can Help” on June 28, 2023 from 8:30 to 16:00 hrs. at the 2nd Floor Conference Room of the MFU Learning Resources and Educational Media Centre. Mr. Ratchanont Ratana, a staff member of the Learning Resources Centre, was a well-educated speaker. He passed on the knowledge, skills, and experience in repairing damaged books to a total of twenty school librarians, school library staff, and other people who were interested so that they could apply the knowledge from this training to maintain and fix the damaged volumes. (Closed on weekend/holidays) We have COVID-19 infection control and prevention measures in the library as below. • Limit the number of daily users to 200 according to the amount of seats provided. (Normally, we can accommodate users). • Carry temperature checks on users. Those with body temperature above 37.5°C are prohibited from using the library. • Increase the frequency of cleaning tables, chairs and frequently touched spots. •Accept library fines via QR code payment only. Respectfully, library users are subject to the following requirements: • Enter the library using a gate near “Shong Cafe” only. • Scan the “THAI CHA NA” QR code before entering and leaving the library. • Wear a face mask while in the Library at all time. • Seriously keep physical distance from other individuals. •Frequently wash your hands.
